BACKGROUND: This agreement is renewed on an annual basis and is used to provide housing for juvenile offenders that otherwise could not be housed in a secure facility due to state statutes. The city provides funding assistance for their negotiated portion according to the needs of the community, not to exceed $93,220.00. If approved, the agreement shall be in effect from July 1st, 2023, through June 30th, 2024.

STAFF RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:  Approve the renewal of the annual agreement between the City of Lawton and Comanche County - County Commissioners for the purpose of providing financial assistance to the County to assist with maintaining and operating the Comanche County Regional Juvenile Detention Center and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement.
