BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton’s Citizen Participation Plan requires a Public Hearing during the development of the Draft FFY 2024 Annual Action Plan (AAP) to receive public input. At the City Planning Commission (CPC) meeting held on March 14, 2024, the City Planning Commission received presentations from 9 Public Service Organization applicants and approved recommendations for PSO Grant Funding for the 9 applicants. On April 11, 2024, the CPC also held a public hearing and approved the FFY 2024 Action Plan Draft with Project Activity Allocation Amounts that included the recommended 9 Public Service Organizations receiving PSO Grant Funding. There was no public input received at the meeting.

FUNDING SOURCE: HUD CDBG and HOME Entitlement Grants. Each year funding amounts in these entitlement grants increase in small increments. Last year’s grant amounts were used for this year’s calculations, as the funding amounts for the upcoming grants have not been given as of this date.
STAFF RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: Hold a public hearing to receive public recommendations and input and then consider approval of the draft FFY 2024 Annual Action Plan.
