BACKGROUND: For the last several years, the library has been allowed to close on the Saturday before Memorial Day and Labor Day to allow library staff to observe a 3-day weekend. As the main library is open 60 hours each week and the branch library is open 15 hours each week, library staff will have the opportunity to get their hours in the Monday - Friday and more staff can take vacation that week. There is no extra holiday pay given.
