BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton solicited bids for contract (CL24-014) Mowing and Litter Control to maintain street rights-of-ways, street medians, neighborhood medians, City owned vacant lots, City facilities and drainage areas. Bid invitations were sent out February 15, 2024, and the bid opening was held on March 6, 2024. Six (6) Responsive bids were received but one was nonresponsive. After reviewing the bids for (CL24-014) Mowing and Litter Control, it is the Department’s recommendation that the contract be awarded to Sonrise Adult & Teen Challenge of Ok for Area 1, Lawn Wizard for Area 2, Sonrise Adult & Teen challenge of Ok for Area 3, and Lawn Wizard for Area 4, and Sonrise Adult & Teen Challenge of Ok for Area 5. We would like to recommend rejecting all bids for Area 6 and that area will continue to be maintained by City Staff. The total monthly cost for all mow areas is $119,500.00 for the entire twelve months May through May for a total annual cost of $1,434,000.00.
