ITEM TITLE:

 

Receive briefing from staff concerning current city lake recreational area agreements located at Lake Lawtonka and Lake Ellsworth to include concessionaire agreements and take appropriate action as deemed necessary.

BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton currently has two recreation area leases remaining at Lake Lawtonka along with two concessionaire leases located at Lake Ellsworth. The remaining city properties located around the lake areas are covered by agriculture leases. The two recreational leases are with the Sunken Bridge Yacht Club and the Lawton Boat Club respectively. The two concessionaire leases located at Lake Ellsworth are Ralph’s Resort and the Fisherman Cove areas. With the expiration dates of these agreements nearing and the recent direction to make the lakes more self-sufficient, staff is seeking direction from Council on how to proceed.
