BACKGROUND: A request for payment of a fee in lieu of stormwater detention for a commercial building permit at 1700 NW Ft. Sill Blvd. was received from the property management board. The building permit at this location is for a 20’ x 20’ (400 square feet) concrete generator pad. Lawton City Code 19A-1-2-124 states “The City Council may consider allowing the developer to pay a fixed fee in lieu of on-site detention if: the development adds one thousand (1,000) square feet or less of impervious area and the owner dedicates the same easements required for platting.” The structure being constructed at this location satisfies the criteria and it is recommended to approve the requested fee in lieu of onsite detention.  The drainage fee in lieu will be $20.00 based on the calculation from Lawton City Code Appendix A-19A-1.
