BACKGROUND: The Alternate Water supply method identified to supplement water availability during drought conditions was identified as ground wells from the Arbuckle Timbers Aquifer. Plans, specifications, and the drilling of Well Site K (Well No. 1) were approved by Council on April 14, 2020. This well site will be used to conduct the pilot study for treatability of the water from the identified alternate water source and Well No.1 will be converted to a production well. On January 20, 2021 and January 27, 2021 the City of Lawton Department of Public Utilities advertised for proposals for the Lawton Groundwater Supply - Well No. 1 Project #PU20-01. On March 16, 2021 the City received and opened two (2) responsive proposals. It is the Department and Consultant Engineer’s recommendation that the project be awarded to the best and lowest responsible bidder, Layne Christensen Co. of Guthrie, OK. _________________________________
