BACKGROUND: On July 23, 2024, Lawton City Council approved an agreement between the Lawton Youth Sports Trust Authority (LYSA) and the City of Lawton for FY25, providing $300,000.00 from the General Fund for program support and $700,000.00 from the 2019 Capital Improvement Fund for the design and/or purchase or lease of property to be the site of a sports complex.
On October 22, 2024, Lawton City Council approved the first amendment to the agreement between LYSA and the City of Lawton for FY25, providing an additional $45,000.00 from the General Fund for program support.
This item seeks approval of the Second Amendment to the support agreement between the City of Lawton and the Lawton Youth Sports Trust Authority (LYSA) allocating an additional $550,000 for the design phase and $80,000 for operations, both from the general fund, and allowing LYSA to retain funds from year to year, provided they are used for their intended purposes.
