BACKGROUND: On August 8, 2023. Council discussed a plan to install cameras in the parks and directed staff to work toward that goal. Security cameras in the parks serve the public interest and align with the True North culture by fostering a safe environment where families can thrive and aids in the investigation and resolution of any incidents in the parks. This report details the accomplishments staff have made in pursuit of this goal, and potential sites for expansion of security cameras in the parks.
