BACKGROUND: Sodium Hypochlorite is a chemical used at both City of Lawton water treatment plants to produce potable water. The City of Lawton solicited bids for contract (CL23-020) Sodium Hypochlorite for use at the water treatment plant. Bid packets were mailed to nine (9) prospective vendors. Two (2) bids were received, and (1) no bid was received. After reviewing the bids for (CL23-020) Sodium Hypochlorite, it is the Department’s recommendation that the contract be awarded to Brenntag Southwest, Inc. of Lancaster, Texas for 180-day contract. Brenntag Southwest, Inc bid pricing for 180-day and 365-day, the 180-day bid is substantially lower and represents a significant savings to the city. Brenntag Southwest, Inc. is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and meets all specifications.

STAFF RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: Award contract (CL23-020) Sodium Hypochlorite to Univar Solutions USA, Inc. Brenntag Southwest, Inc. 704 E Wintergreen Rd Lancaster Texas 75134 in the estimated amount of Chemical used at the MPWTP - $211,600 per 180-day and SEWTP - $64,400 per 180-day.
