BACKGROUND: Section 17-2-9-205 of the City Code mandates that Employee Advisory Committee elections be held on the first Tuesday in October. It also requires the City Clerk to post notifications of these elections, along with the procedures, at least thirty (30) calendar days prior. However, due to an oversight, the required notifications were not posted. Staff is now requesting that the Council waive the requirement to hold the election on the first Tuesday in October, allowing proper notification to be posted. If approved, the election will instead take place on the second Tuesday in November.
