BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton provides Employee Assistance Program Services to city of Lawton employees and their qualifying family members.  Due to the current contract with Community Care expiring, our brokers Higginbotham, was contacted to publish an RFP for coverage.  Higginbotham received a proposal from Aetna.  Aetna offers counseling services from broad network of EAP Network Providers and EAP Staff Clinicians.  Aetna offers several management services and trainings.  Members have access to an EAP call center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This contract has been approved by the City Attorney’s office.

KEY ISSUES:  Does the City of Lawton wish to enter into a contract with Aetna for Employee Assistance Program Services.

STAFF RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:  Approve the agreement with Aetna for Employee Assistance Program Services for eligible City of Lawton employees and qualifying family members effective July 1, 2023, and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement.
