BACKGROUND: In accordance with the terms of the settlement agreement (Exhibit A, paragraph H) reached in the case of Joseph Harper and Vivian Wheeler vs City of Lawton, Case No. CIV-12-841-F, the City of Lawton is required to present an annual report of ADA projects, work on those projects toward compliance, and the money expended on each project by October of each year. The settlement agreement establishes a minimum of $350,000.00 be spent on ADA compliance needs during the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The total amount spent on projects during the last fiscal year (2023-2024) exceeded that minimum with a total of $2,836,444.42 spent on the projects identified in the compliance report.
