BACKGROUND: Neil & Tamara Whiteman are the owners of the property located at 502 NW Fort Sill Boulevard, Lawton, OK 73501 (Lots 1, Block 6, of Mountain View). This property is located on the NW corner of NW Dearborn Ave and NW Fort Sill Blvd. The house was built in 1926 and is 2,113 Square Feet.

2. The 2030 Land Use Plan for the surrounding area is:
North - Residential/Low Density
South - Residential/Low Density
East - Residential/Low Density
West - Residential/Low Density
3. The Notice of public hearing was mailed to 27 owners of property within 300 feet of the requested area on April 3, 2023, and proper notice was published in The Lawton Constitution on April 21, 2023. The planning department has received phone calls from the neighbors to the north and the south stating they are not in favor of the request. A petition against the request, signed by 16 property owners on the 300 foot ownership list was submitted to the planning department.
4. Staff has reviewed the request and by code 11 parking spaces, one being handicap with an 8' access aisle is required. The current site plan only shows one spot on the existing driveway.
5. The City Planning Commission held a public hearing on March 30, 2023 and made the recommendation to deny the request.
