BACKGROUND: In accordance with the True North Culture Statement in that we do everything for the citizens, the grant of $25,000.00 provided funding for two initiatives: a portable food demonstration cart and community health classes. The Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative started a new process this fall requiring the professional service agreement which was created after the grant was approved. The NNLM grant was approved by City Council on June 27, 2023. This grant provides $10,000.00 of funding for six class series. These healthy living activities are geared toward aging adults.

FUNDING SOURCE: The Library has applied for and received a $25,000 grant from the University of North Texas health Science Center at Fort Worth. The grant will allow staff to purchase a portable food demonstration kitchen and fund Tai Chi, as well as other classes through Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative (OHAI). This is a reimbursable grant the funds will be accounted for during the FY 2024 annual budget.
