BACKGROUND: After a short hiatus, the Spirit of Survival event returned on October 5th and October 6th, 2024, proudly sponsored by the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma. Due to Covid, the last in person Spirit of Survival event took place in 2019 and the last virtual event took place in 2021. Back this year on a slightly smaller scale, the event included biking events as well as running and walking events for all ages. The Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma is in appreciation of the City of Lawton Departments that helped make this happen, including Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Emergency Communications, the Fire Department and the Police Department.
