BACKGROUND: This update reflects the start time of 6:00 pm to being in August. It adds language requiring those requesting to speak during audience participation to be City of Lawton residents. It gives Council the ability to deny a request to speak if the individual did not submit a request to speak form. Additionally, it clarifies the presiding officer may call upon a member of the audience to participate during a public hearing. Lastly, the updates put into place the forfeiture of speaking during audience participation for not less than six months if an individual has been removed due to disruptive or abusive behavior.
