STAFF INFORMATION SOURCE:  Jessica Carter, Emergency Communications Director

BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton wishes to purchase software for the county volunteer fire and police departments. The county intends to reimburse the City of Lawton for this purchase. The acquisition of the site licenses will allow all first responder agencies in Comanche County to be dispatched by the Emergency Communications Center in the same way the Lawton Police Department and Lawton Fire Department are currently served. These licenses will improve the efficiency of emergency services and response times. Furthermore, this purchase underscores the importance of partnerships and agreements in enhancing public safety and advancing community objectives. A budget amendment is needed to appropriate $196,900.00 to the Cellular Fee Fund to purchase software for the county volunteer fire and police departments.
