BACKGROUND: On May 21, 2024, the Streets and Bridges Committee convened to discuss necessary repairs included in ad valorem projects and CIP projects that have not begun. During discussions, the committee determined that the section of SW 38th Street from West Gore Blvd to SW Lee Blvd, which is a CIP project, and the section of SW Lee Blvd from SW 38th Street to SW 67th Street, which is an ad valorem project designated as part of Phase III of the Lee Blvd Project, were eligible candidates for a milling and overlaying project that would include deep depth repair. Due to the length of time it will require to reconstruct these roads and the state of the pavement, the Streets and Bridges Committee recommends a rehabilitation project.
