BACKGROUND: During a recent review of Chapter 7, it was determined that some changes needed to be made to some of the fees of the code.

Article A-7-3 pertained to Airports, Heliports and Helistops. Current City staff does not remember ever issuing a license to an airport, heliport or helipad. None of the peer cities have this license. An ordinance repealing the accompanying code section will be coming to repeal it.

Article A-7-11 pertained to Fireworks and Fireworks stands have been prohibited within the City Limits of Lawton for several years, but the fee was not removed. The fee for the Fireworks displays will be on an accompanying Resolution to move it to Chapter 11 where the code addressing the Firework displays is located.

Article A-7-20 pertains to Residential Sales and after reviewing the fees, it was determined that raising the fees will assist in covering the costs of staff in issuing the permits.

Article A-7-29 pertains to Indoor Shooting Ranges and after reviewing State Statute, it was determined that the City cannot charge more than $20.00 as the annual license tax.
