BACKGROUND: During a recent review of Chapter 7 of Lawton City Code, it was determined that an overhaul of most of the chapter to update to current language and more modern times was necessary. This ordinance will remove the requirement for businesses to have distress and close out sales when going out of business and require estate sales to get permitted. This ordinance will also set out the application requirements, allows for transferability of estate sale permits if unable to be held due to inclement weather, the applicant can request another permit to be held within 30 calendar days of the original permit.
