BACKGROUND: A request for payment of a fee in lieu of stormwater detention for the Day Spring Church Portable Building permit at 8612 Cache Road was received from the property owner. The building permit at this location is for a portable storage unit. Lawton City Code 19A-1-2-124 (5) states “The city council may consider allowing the developer to pay a fixed fee in lieu of on-site detention if: The development adds one thousand (1,000) square feet or less of impervious area and the owner dedicates the same easements required for platting”. The structure being constructed on this 15.12-acre tract satisfies this criterion at 864 square feet of impervious surface and it is recommended to approve the requested fee in lieu of onsite detention. The drainage fee in-lieu will be $115.00 based on the calculation from City Code Appendix A-19A-1.
