BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton values the impactful work performed by its authorities, boards, committees, commissions, and trusts for the Lawton citizens. These public bodies make important policies and resource allocation decisions inter alia. Public decisions necessitate compliance with the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act to ensure transparency. To enhance civic engagement and accountability, this policy introduces electronic agenda posting requirements and stricter submission timelines: 48 hours for regular meetings and 72 hours for special meetings.
