BACKGROUND: In 2020, the City Council altered the time of its regular meetings from 6:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month.
On May 28, 2024, Council approved moving the meetings to 6:00PM for six months, re-evaluating after six months, and directing the City Manager to figure out an equitable pay incentive for employees that are required to be present. .
On June 25, 2024, Council approved changing the meeting time to 6:00PM starting with the first meeting in August, 2024.
On July 9, 2024, Council approved changing the meeting time to 6:00PM in Council Policy 1-6: Council Rules of Procedure.
On November 12, 2024, Council took no action on a proposed ordinance changing the meeting time to 6:00PM in City Code.
With the six-month trial period for 6:00PM meetings now complete, the Council will consider what time meetings of the City Council should be.
