BACKGROUND: On May 14, 2024 Council awarded the construction contract for Project PW2101-Lanfill Cells 6 & 7, to 4X Construction Group, LLC. The project consists of the expansion of two (2) new cells at the existing landfill site.
On August 27, 2024, Council approved Amendment No. 1 & Change Order No. 1 consisting of additional quantities for demucking, intercell berm, 8-inch ball port valve at intercell berm, and additional general fill associated with backfilling. The original contract amount was $3,841,081.25 and Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $199,526.55 made the new contract amount total $4,040,607.80.
On September 24, 2024, Council approved Change order No. 2 which accounted for additional 1-foot protective cover required to be placed on top of the west side slope of Cell 7. This change order added and additional cost of $37,700.00, making the new contract sum $4,078,307.80.
Final change order No. 3 accounts for cost reduction associated in the amount of $14,250.00, making the final contract sum $4,064,057.80. Final payment application #8 accounts for the final retainage payment of $204,865.39.
