BACKGROUND: In compliance with the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the City of Lawton is required to post an Annual Meeting Notice that list the date, time, and location of all regularly scheduled meetings for the upcoming year no later than December 15th. On November 5, 2024, City Council approved an Annual Meeting Notice for calendar year 2025. It was later discovered that the dates for the October 2025 meetings were set for the first and second Tuesday of the month instead of the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, as required in section 2-1-1-102 in City Code. At this time, City Council will consider approving an amendment to the previously approved 2025 Annual Meeting Notice in order to correct this error. The correct dates should be October 14, 2025 and October 28, 2025.
