BACKGROUND: On May 14, 2024 Council awarded the construction contract for Project PW2102 - Landfill Cells 6 & 7 to 4X Construction Group, LLC. The project consists of expansion of two (2) new cells at the existing landfill site.
On August 27, 2024 Council approved Amendment No. 1 & Change Order No. 1 consisting of additional quantities for demucking, intercell berm, 8-inch ball port valve at intercell berm, and additional general fill associated with backfilling. The original contract amount was $3,841,081.25. The approval of Change Order No 1 added an additional cost of $199,526.55, making the new contract amount total $4,040,607.80. No additional work days were requested with this change order.
Change Order No. 2 accounts for additional 1-foot protective cover (imported from off-site borrow source) required to be placed on top of the west side slope of Cell 7 at the City of Lawton landfill. This change order will add an additional cost of $37,700.00, making the new contract amount total $4,078,307.80. No additional work days are requested with this change order.
