BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton experienced a hailstorm on June 15, 2023. The storm caused significant damage to the roof at Central Mall Plaza. Settlement for the roof damage has been reached with the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group, and the City has received $9,388,426.49 in insurance proceeds to date. An additional $4,456,402.38 will be received after the project is complete. Aside from the deductible of $10,000.00, the City of Lawton will have no out of pocket expenses. $12,738,084.98 of this contract will be paid by the City of Lawton and $1,143,363.91 will be paid by FISTA. Because the amount to be paid will exceed the City Manager’s authority, Council needs to approve the Restoration Services Agreement with BBMK Contracting LLC and Blueteam Roofing LLC.
