Consider approving a contract with Greystone Construction Company for salt and sand storage building in the amount not to exceed $360,000.00.

body

INITIATOR:  Michael Watrous, Public Works Director

STAFF INFORMATION SOURCE:  The structure construction was previously approved as a part of the 24/25 budget. Purchase of the building will be through Sourcewell purchasing cooperative of which Lawton is a member. Construction of this structure will increase our salt/sand storage capabilities for future winter storm events as well as significantly reduce maintenance costs on the current salt/sand storage building.

KEY ISSUES:  Lawton is a member of the Sourcewell Purchasing Collective, approved by the State of Oklahoma Office of Attorney General as of January 15th, 2021 and bidding is not required per city code 10-1-113E and in accordance with Admin Policy 4-2, item 11. However, local estimates have been gathered from several companies and Greystone (through Sourcewell) is the lowest cost by more than 5%.
