Consider approving an ordinance pertaining to nuisances and health by amending Section 15-2-206, Article 15-2, Chapter 15, Nuisances and Health, Lawton City Code 2015, by adding language to allow for abatement of refuse at the curb and allowing the placement of lien against properties, providing for severability and declaring an emergency.

BACKGROUND: During a recent review of article 15-2, staff determined that an additional change needed to occur to address the current procedures to bill vacant properties that have refuse at the curb. This ordinance will address the vacant properties and those without an active water account with the City. This will allow the City to place a lien on the property after abatement work has been completed by City of Lawton hired contractors. The placement of the lien will be done in accordance with all of the normal lien procedures.
