STAFF INFORMATION SOURCE: Charlotte Brown, Community Services Director
BACKGROUND: This amendment to the code is being done to allow for better compliance for business license tracking by staff. The current code doesn’t specify the expiration date of the licenses issued under Article 7-35 which include medical marijuana facilities, hookah bars, and cigar lounges. Article 7-1 states that all annual licenses shall expire one year from date of issuance unless otherwise specifically stated.
This ordinance is removing the language for the grace period that was put in place for the original licenses back in 2022. It will also add the requirement that all of the licenses covered under Article 7-35 will expire annually on June 30th. The ordinance will also move all the current licenses to June 30th for expiration.
