BACKGROUND: In late 2019, staff initiated an investigation into the methods used in its employee pension calculations. This investigatory review remains open to date. The Deputy City Attorney advises the Council that the disclosure of information relating to the ongoing investigation will seriously impair the ability of the City Attorney to conduct said investigatory review and/or defend its interest, and from that determination, the Council should convene in executive session to discuss this matter.
