INITIATOR:  Jason Poudrier, Arts and Humanities Administrator

STAFF INFORMATION SOURCE:  Jason Poudrier, Arts and Humanities Administrator

BACKGROUND: The Street Light resolution provides for the installation of 7 flood lights to light up the fields between the West Pavilion and the Comanche National Museum, and one Street Light near the corner of the road by the Boy Scout office along 6th street. The area is a high-traffic area during festivals in Elmer Thomas park, and typically light towers must be rented. For a nearly equivalent cost, PSO would install lights on existing towers and light the field year round.

EXHIBIT:  Street Light Resolution NO. 507

KEY ISSUES:  Installation of the floor and street lights described in the resolution will increase the annual operating cost by less than $1500 annually and will provide for a much safer park and festival experience for our citizens.

FUNDING SOURCE:  General Fund

STAFF RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:  Adopt Street Light Resolution No. 507 to authorize the installation of flood lights and street lights at the location listed in the resolution.
