BACKGROUND: At the May 28, 2024 meeting, City Council directed staff to take a request to the Traffic Commission to remove the traffic signals at the intersection of West Gore Boulevard and 4^th Street. At the June 6, 2024 meeting, the Traffic Commission recommended approval of the following traffic control measures to the City Council: Remove traffic signals at the intersection of West Gore Boulevard and 4^th Street and install northbound and southbound STOP signs and CROSS TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP signs on 4^th Street at West Gore Boulevard. This change provides an increase in efficiency for the traffic corridor, while maintaining the necessary safe environment for our citizens to thrive.
