BACKGROUND: The Lawton Farmers Market, in partnership with the ONIE Project, Comanche County TSET, Fit Kids of SW Oklahoma, and Comanche County Health Department hosts the family-fun Let’s Get Lawton Moving event annually in July during the Tomato Festival in the City of Lawton.

This event has a variety of physical activity options for participants to choose from including; running/walking a designated course, zumba dancing, yoga, and salsa dancing. ONIE will support the event by managing registration, communication with participants via email and text messages before and during the event, offer healthy post- race snacks for participants, create social media content, and provide a medal to those who finish one or more of the activities.

The ONIE Project is requesting permit fees be waived, uniformed Lawton Police Officers to assist in the 2k run/walk, Lawton Fire to assist in any medical emergencies that may arise, street closures, and poly carts. ONIE is not requesting any funding, just in-kind services.
