BACKGROUND: During a recent reading of Council Policy 6-1, staff wrote an ordinance to allow for emergency inspections to occur within two hours during regular business hours. Th ordinance lists out the type of emergency inspections that can be requested. The ordinance also lists out the allowance for photographic inspections and what type of inspections will be allowed as photographic inspections. Misuse of the emergency inspection requests and the photographic inspection process will result in the contractor not being able to request those types of inspections for a period of six months. The ordinance also sets up a fee for emergency inspections.
