BACKGROUND: As a certified and licensed Emergency Medical First Response Agency with the Oklahoma State Health Department, the Emergency Communications Center is required to have a Medical Director to provide oversight of the center’s Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) activities. Additionally, the Lawton Fire Department is required to have physician led medical oversight for the emergency medical services provided to our community. The professional services agreement fulfills those requirements for both departments. Dr. Worden has been the established medical director for both departments since July 1, 2011.
