BACKGROUND: The Engineering Department for the City of Lawton has had multiple vacant engineering positions for the past several years. The Engineering Department currently has two engineering vacancies and Sewer System Technical Division has one engineering vacancy. The city will continue to attempt to fill these vacant positions, but until full-time Engineers are hired, it is desired to renew the services of an engineering consultant for the purposes of providing engineering services, specifically including traffic engineering service, to support the Engineering Department and other city departments on an as needed basis for various types of projects within the City of Lawton. It is recommended that the City renew a Retainer Agreement for Professional Engineering Services with Traffic Engineering Consultants, Inc. for full traffic engineering services at the rates provided in the attached fee schedule on an as needed basis.
