BACKGROUND: On April 29th, 2024 the Lawton Water Authority directed staff to extend the lease with the Sunken Bridge Yacht Club through December 31, 2027. The Authority also directed that the lease include language notifying the Sunken Bridge Yacht Club of the city's intention to absorb the leased area into the School House Slough campground area upon expiration of the lease. With respect to the fees associated with the lease agreement, the Authority directed staff to include incremental increases with said amounts beginning at $2500 for year 2025, $4000 for year 2026, and $6000 for year 2027. The proposed agreement incorporates the Authority's direction and converts the lease to calendar year with the first eight months of the lease being prorated utilizing the current annual lease amount. Therefore, if approved, the Sunken Bridge Yacht Club will pay $1313.09 for the months of May 1,2024 through December 31, 2024 and the three subsequent years will reflect the increases desired by the Authority.
