BACKGROUND: The City of Lawton’s Lake Division’s main office building is in extremely poor condition and in desperate need of immediate attention. The building is not ADA accessible for staff or customers. There are multiple roof leaks and siding damage causing water damage to the building. Furthermore, the plumbing floods and all windows associated with this facility aren’t insulated and leak. Flooring has rotten areas with holes and tears in the floor coverings contributing to possible slips, trips, and fall hazards. Staff recommends this facility receive immediate attention by making it a priority within the 2040 PROPEL CIP Extension Park and Recreation improvement budget. The City Engineer projects that the cost to replace the facility with a steel facility would be approximately $720K.
