BACKGROUND: Oklahoma Statutes require the City of Lawton to conduct a public hearing on the proposed budget no later than fifteen (15) days prior to the beginning of each budget year. Notice of the date, time, and place of the hearing, together with the proposed budget summary, must be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City not less than five (5) days before the date of the hearing. A copy of the proposed budget must also be available for review in the office of the City Clerk. The City has complied with all requirements of Public Notice and Publication of the budget summary.
