INITIATOR:  Craig Akard, Human Resources Director

STAFF INFORMATION SOURCE:  Craig Akard, Human Resources Director

BACKGROUND: This proposed change is the result of City Charter referencing a six-month probationary period.  For clarification and consistency, the definition of introductory employee and introductory status has been updated to also include probationary employee and probationary status.  The introductory period will also revert to 6 months, from 12, to be consistent throughout. Additionally, this change includes adding unborn children to the definition of immediate family. The proposed changes have been before the Employee Advisory Committee.
