BACKGROUND: The Lawton Police Department has received a number of inquiries and complaints from residents about criminal trespassing in homes on neighboring properties. Over the last month, staff has looked at ways to resolve the issue and discovered a Trespass Authorization Form, currently being utilized in Chula Vista, CA. The advanced authorization would allow homeowners who may not live in Lawton, to grant the Lawton Police Department authority to cite or arrest a trespassing person on their property.
