BACKGROUND: The Engineering Department for the City of Lawton has had multiple vacant engineering positions for the past several years. The Engineering Department currently has two engineering vacancies and Sewer System Technical Division has one engineering vacancy. The city will continue to attempt to fill these vacant positions, but until full-time Engineers are hired, it is desired to retain the services of an engineering consultant for the purposes of providing engineering services on an as needed basis for various types of projects within the City of Lawton.
In accordance with the True North Culture statement, by providing a more efficient service to the citizens of Lawton, it is recommended that the City of Lawton enter into a Retainer Agreement for Professional Engineering Services with CEC Corporation for full engineering services at the rates provided in the attached fee schedule on an as needed basis.

FUNDING SOURCE: Engineering Department Professional and Technical Services account. The account has a balance of $257,696.50. Future project expenses that can occur with this on-call agreement may range from $0 up to $100,000.00.
