BACKGROUND: The City Manager, in early 2022, initiated an investigation into landfill billing and the need for reconciliation of the billing systems. Since that time, staff from Solid Waste, Finance, and the City Manager’s office have reviewed and evaluated almost two hundred landfill accounts. The Acting City Attorney advises the Council that the disclosure of information relating to the ongoing investigation will seriously impair the ability of the public body to conduct said investigatory review and/or defend its interest, and from that determination, the Council should convene in executive session to discuss the is matter.
